Is Kravica Worth It from Sarajevo?

By Armel Sukovic · 4 min read ·

Neretva canyon on the Sarajevo-to-Kravica route

A Sarajevo to Kravica day trip is a commitment: 12 hours, roughly 5 hours of driving each way, and only 2-3 hours at the waterfall itself. So — is it worth it?

Yes, if: - You're only in Sarajevo for a few days and won't visit Mostar otherwise - You want a scenic Neretva canyon drive + Konjic + Blagaj + Počitelj + Mostar + Kravica in one day - You enjoy long scenic drives and don't get carsick - The weather is good (rain on this day trip is miserable)

No, if: - You plan to go to Mostar anyway and can do Kravica from there (much shorter) - You get tired on long drives - You only care about the waterfall itself — you'll spend more time driving than swimming - You're traveling with small children

Compromise option: take a Sarajevo → Mostar → Kravica tour that drops you in Mostar at the end (free relocation offered on our tour). You get the scenic drive south + Kravica swim, and you end up in Mostar ready for the next day.

Our recommendation: if Kravica is your main goal, base from Mostar. If you want Bosnia-in-a-day, the Sarajevo trip delivers.
